Generally, “leadership” is understood in the context of getting tasks done. Through Gracious Leadership we get tasks done in a way
that is designed to build and strengthen relationships.
It is a different way of looking at leadership where we place the primary
emphasis on Jesus’ commandment to love one another. We work to hear the voices of all, especially those who believe they have no voice.
Gracious Leadership creates an environment in which mutually respectful relationships can be developed and truth can be explored.
Examples of Gracious Leadership in our parish include our clergy, lay leaders in each of our ministries and in Christian Education.
Leaders in each of these activities accomplish their tasks in a manner that is non-judgmental, respectful and empowering.
